Prashant Lamsal: Through My Eyes – By Ganesh Chapagain
From the very first time I met Prashant Lamsal at Kantipur City College, I felt he was someone truly different—humble, dedicated, and focused. Over the years, our journey of friendship and collaboration has grown stronger, filled with both professional partnerships and unforgettable personal memories.
1. Academic Background and YouTube Journey
Prashant completed his Diploma in Civil Engineering from Balaju School of Engineering and Technology. I later learned that his hometown is in Sunwal. Though his real name is Prashant Lamsal, many students know him as Prashant YT—a name that comes from his widely followed YouTube channel. He has uploaded over 2,600 videos to help Diploma and Bachelor-level engineering students all over Nepal.
During our Bachelor studies, I, Ganesh Chapagain, had the opportunity to join him as a content creation partner. Together, we created around 400–500 videos, especially focused on Mathematics I and III, providing online tuition support to engineering students. Prashant’s humble nature, helpful attitude, and student-friendly personality made our collaboration both smooth and meaningful. We’ve now been working together for nearly three years, and our shared mission to make learning easier continues.
2. A Memorable Journey
One of my most unforgettable memories with Prashant happened during the Dashain holidays. I had gone back to my home in Phidim, Panchthar, when Prashant and our friend Pritam Lepcha arrived in Falelung Rural Municipality for a pipeline survey. The area is extremely remote, with no proper road access.
Since no vehicles could reach the location, Prashant told me, “Ganesh, we’ll come pick you up.” Without thinking twice, I agreed—even though I normally avoid riding three people on one bike. But this time it felt different—my field colleagues were in my hometown, and I wanted to help however I could.
The journey was challenging. There was no mobile signal—neither Ncell nor Namaste worked. I asked a local about network access, and they pointed me to a large rock on a nearby hill. I climbed there, managed to make a call, and sent my location. We finally met around 7 PM, after I had left home at 1 PM. It wasn’t just a difficult trip—it was a meaningful and fun experience. We reached my home by 9 PM, shared a meal, talked for hours, and spent the night together. The next morning, Prashant left for his home, and I continued to assist Pritam with the fieldwork.
3. Personal Reflection
Back in Kathmandu, Prashant and I—Ganesh—have met multiple times. He has stayed over at my room on several occasions, and I’ve also visited his place once. He lives with his mother and younger sister, and I found their family very warm and welcoming. To this day, I carry fond memories of that visit.
Prashant isn’t just talented—he’s also handsome, shy, and most importantly, respectful. He knows his limits, respects boundaries, and treats everyone with kindness and professionalism. These qualities, combined with his consistent hard work, make him stand out—not only as a content creator but as a person.
As Ganesh Chapagain, I proudly say that Prashant Lamsal is more than a friend to me—he is a committed educator, a humble individual, and a source of inspiration for many. Our shared journey—both as friends and collaborators—has been special, and I look forward to creating even more memories together in the days to come.
